The problem
Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are one of the leading causes of disability worldwide. They are a group of over 150 conditions that affect muscles, joints and bones, including low back pain, arthritis and postural dysfunction, negatively impacting the quality of life. According to the World Health Organization, in 2019, more than 1 billion people were affected.
MSDs, such as low back pain, often arise from postural dysfunctions or joint imbalances that force the body to compensate with incorrect motor patterns, further aggravating the condition. In Europe, over 250 million people require rehabilitation services for MSDs, and in Italy alone, over 240,000 surgical interventions are recorded annually related to postural problems.
